1. Know your audience
Where the party is being held and who'll be in attendance are both important factors in choosing the appropriate wardrobe for your event. Are you attending an office holiday party at a local banquet center, or an intimate dinner party at your friend's apartment? Be sure to consider the guest list, and avoid anything that your boss (or your mom, or your co-worker, or your best friend) would deem inappropriate. As a general rule, it's best to avoid anything too tight to too low-cut, regardless of the event.
